The key to our success
The originality of the Académie Musicale’s project and the adapted timetable represent a real challenge for the students.
Since its foundation, our school has developed an adapted pedagogy centred on the needs of each age. The students are thus supported in their intellectual growth so as to succeed at each new stage of their schooling.
The whole educational team is involved. It works in close collaboration with the students and their parents in the follow-up of development and in choices of guidance.
By thus placing the child’s integral development at the heart of his academic success, we help him discover the routes of excellence that will lead him to become a free and responsible adult.
The tutor
The tutor, a professional in pedagogy and education, mentors a class throughout the school year.
He is the privileged contact for parents, boys and teachers of the year entrusted to him.
His close knowledge of the age-group he works with, and of the constraints of life at the Académie Musicale, lets him coordinate and to make the whole class progress.
The educational team
The educational team comprises all the adults who work with the students of the Académie Musicale.
Teachers, educators, administrative staff, maintenance staff — all are professionals recognised for the quality of their skills and take part, in close connection with the families, in the growth of each child entrusted to the school.
Pre-choir school
From CM1 to 6e the students are in the pre-choir school.
They follow a rhythm adapted to their age which allows them to have long moments of rest, to go to bed earlier, and to learn the foundations of choral singing and of instrumental practice.
It is a time of academic foundation.
The CM1–CM2 class, with a qualified primary-school teacher, consolidates what the boys learned in primary school so they can start collège with confidence.
Boys in 6e, still part of the younger group, can discover the demands of collège at a gentle pace.
The tutor dedicated to this class works with them each day so that they can organise themselves and adapt to the different teachers.
The educational team works to give them real self-confidence, so they can take the road to autonomy without anxiety.
Choir school · Secondary
Collège (ages 11–15) choir school corresponds to Cycle 4 (5ᵉ–3ᵉ). It brings together the classes from 5ᵉ to 3ᵉ.
This coherent whole lets us take up the issues proper to adolescence within academic formation. Each year is a step towards autonomy and prepares them gradually for the lycée.
In 5e the students join the choir school.
They learn to take on the demands of a more exacting timetable of rehearsals and concerts.
They are still supported daily by a tutor who, together with the whole educational team and the parents, helps them to find their feet so as to gain in effectiveness in their personal organisation.
In 3e, the class is supported in preparing its first state examination, the Diplôme National du Brevet (now compulsory for passage into Seconde) and its entry into the lycée.
With proven study methods in place, and guidance begun from the end of collège, boys at the Academy can look ahead to lycée and its challenges with confidence.
Choir school · Lycée
In the perspective of an integral education, we envisage the three years of the lycée as a time of a strong taking-on of responsibility in every area of life of the school.
In the course of these three years, the adolescent becomes a young adult encouraged to build a coherent programme of study.
The heart of support for lycée students is therefore not only academic but also human.
With a good knowledge of the grandes écoles network and of what they look for, the team can help each boy to make the most of his potential and reach his goals.
