How do you become a student at the Académie Musicale de Liesse?
Admission is based on an application followed by an audition, assessed on the child's motivation, behaviour, academic record and musical level — no prior musical knowledge is required before Collège (age 11). Recruitment focuses mainly on CM1, CM2 (ages 9-11) and Lycée (ages 15-18), where the most places are available.

You can discover the Academy in several ways:
- By coming to one of our open days
- By attending one of our concerts
- By contacting us directly to arrange a visit.
Applications for the September 2026 intake are open,
from CM1 to Première.
Your son does not need to read music or play an instrument. He does need to enjoy singing, and to sing reasonably in tune.
We recruit mainly in CM1 and CM2 as well as in the lycée; fewer places are available in the collège years.
Discovery weeks (CE2-CM1)
Boys currently in CE2 or CM1 (ages 8–10) can take part in a “discovery week” with no commitment, no application file and no audition. All it takes is a short form. They can also follow the standard route (application → audition → discovery week).
Admission requirements
Selection is based on four criteria: motivation, behaviour, academic standard and reports, and musical standard and reports. To these are added objective but less measurable criteria, such as the timbre of the voice or the boy’s temperament. Each application is assessed by a multidisciplinary team (human, academic and artistic formation).
Where an application is unsuccessful, the panel's decision is final and no reasons are given; parents accept this in submitting the application.

- Mr and Mrs Barré — parents of a student in 2nde and of a former student, who entered in CM2.
- Mr and Mrs Revol — parents of a former student, educated at the Academy from CM1 to Terminale.

Download both documents, then send them together by post to the Academy — 12 rue du Chanoine Calendini, 72300 Précigné (or if necessary by email).
Please send your application and wait for our reply before arranging an audition date: we will get back to you directly by email.
🎤Come for an audition
Before we can welcome your son for a discovery week, we must make sure that he sings sufficiently in tune, that he has a good ear and that he is motivated to come to the Academy.
At this audition, we simply need to speak with him and to hear him sing one or more excerpts of pieces of his choice. He may also present an instrumental piece if he plays an instrument.
Auditions take place during the “Open days” as well as on other dates in the course of the year. An application file must have been sent before requesting an appointment — except for students currently in CE2-CM1.
🏫Spend a “discovery week” at the Academy
If your son’s application and audition are accepted, he is invited to spend a full week at the Academy.
It lets us confirm the boy’s motivation, his readiness for boarding and his love of music. It also lets him experience day-to-day life at the school, make friends and feel at ease.
Please note: we welcome candidates almost every week between January and June. Once the audition is confirmed, we offer several dates for you to choose from.
