How we track progress
Parents' meetings
As in any school, parents are invited to meet the teachers and the educators who work with their son day to day.
The Academy offers:
- A video meeting at the start of the school year to introduce each class’s teaching team.
- A day of individual meetings at the end of the first term.
Families are also encouraged to get in touch with any member of the educational team whenever they need to.
Likewise, the Academy’s staff regularly get in touch with parents to discuss their child’s progress.
Assessments
Written homework is set regularly. Written and oral tests are regularly set by the teachers.
- Supervised tests (DS) take place weekly from 6e onwards. The test calendar is sent out at the start of the school year.
- Formal examinations take place twice in the school year: every subject is then assessed in the same week.
- Mock Brevet and mock Baccalauréat examinations also take place twice a year, to prepare the students for examination conditions.
The blue folder
The blue folder is a display folder in which each student of the Académie Musicale de Liesse keeps all the documents concerning his academic, musical and human progress.
It contains his school reports, the review sheets from his progress reviews, and every document that helps the student to reach his objectives.
From 3e onwards, students also keep there their work related to guidance for the future.
Reports
The Académie Musicale de Liesse prepares and sends parents (in digital form via École Directe) and to students (on paper) a report that summarises the work done in the three areas of life of our school.
The report sets out the conclusions of the progress review — commendations, recommendation for the following year and a summary of the discussion — so that parents can follow their child’s schooling closely.
Each student receives a copy, to keep in mind his strengths and the weaknesses to work on from one term to the next.
