The Académie wishes to give each student a complete artistic formation of a high standard.

A formation of excellence
Each week, according to age, our students devote a substantial time to music:
- from CM1 to 6e: between 6 and 8 hours of music per week
- from 5e to 3e: between 10 and 12 hours of music per week
- from Seconde to Terminale: between 8 and 10 hours of music per week
All students receive a theoretical and practical formation including musical formation (solfège), singing, and the practice of an instrument if validated by the class council or the admissions jury.
A formation leading to a diploma
The Académie is affiliated to the French Federation of Artistic Education. On that basis it organises examinations with external juries and awards recognised diplomas.
The Académie Musicale de Liesse also regularly presents volunteer students at international competitions — such as the Clés d’Or competition or Prodiges, the French TV young-talent show.

Choral singing
At the Academy, the emphasis is placed on polyphonic choral singing.
In addition to the essential rehearsals by voice part and in “tutti”, our students regularly receive a lesson in vocal technique.
The presence of boys of different ages makes it possible to offer choral singing in several choirs:
- The initial formation (for newcomers, lasting a maximum of one year)
- The main choir
- The treble choir (sopranos and altos of the collège choir school and the pre-choir school)
- The lower-voice choir (men’s voices)
- The Tutti choir which brings together all the students for great works
Our students practise different vocal styles, from Gregorian (plainchant) to polyphony, including contemporary styles, praise pop and musical theatre.
Specialized ensembles
Some students may also enter specialised formations:
- the chamber orchestra
- the jazz band
- the contemporary music group
- accompaniment
- choral conducting
- the men's vocal ensemble
Masterclasses are given regularly by internationally renowned directors such as Sylvain Dieudonné (formerly of the Notre-Dame de Paris choir school), Andrew Nethsingha (St John’s College, Cambridge) or Edward Higginbottom (New College, Oxford).
The Académie is also invited to take part in events of prestige in the Principality of Monaco, in Paris, on tours in France and abroad, and in the company of renowned musicians such as Thierry Escaich and Michel Pétrossian.
