Instrumental training
At the Académie Musicale de Liesse, each boy receives during the week an instrumental lesson of his choice, among the possibilities offered by the school, by decision of the class council or of the admissions jury.
Where applicable, he also has in his timetable dedicated time slots for practising his instrument. In certain cases, he may also continue lessons in other schools at the weekend.
The Académie tries to meet each boy’s instrumental needs and offers the following instrumental lessons:

- Cello
- Trumpet
- Guitars (classical, folk, electric, and bass)
- Flute
- Jazz drums
- Percussion
- Saxophone
- Accompaniment
- Oboe
- Keyboard harmony
- Improvisation

Auditions and diplomas
Instrumental work gives rise to recitals each midday, as well as to more formal, assessed recitals. It may also be assessed by an invited external jury at end-of-cycle examinations.
Affiliated to the French Federation of Artistic Education (FFEA), the Academy is authorised to award diplomas recognised at national level.
Ensemble training
Certain selected students may join an instrumental orchestra.
The Académie also offers formations in contemporary music or Jazz, placed under the direction of a teacher, for volunteer students who have been selected.

Many instruments are placed at the students’ disposal, freely accessible for daily practice.
