A rich and joyful spiritual life
We want to give each boy the possibility of meeting Jesus Christ in his life.
The spiritual unity and coherence of the Académie Musicale de Liesse rest on the spirituality of Saint John Bosco.
Liturgical formation
It is given by members of the educational team and by Father Christian du Halgouët, a diocesan priest appointed by our bishop as the Academy's chaplain.
He comes regularly to the Academy to celebrate Mass, to offer confession and to give the boys a liturgical formation.
The teaching alternates warm explanation with learning by heart, and draws on books such as the Catechism of the Catholic Church and YouCat.
It takes up the knowledge of Christ, the catechism, questions of society, the social teaching of the Church, and the history of the Church.
Prayer:
A real life of prayer is offered to the boys by the educational team, in our chapel:
- Morning prayer
- Angelus — at noon
- Vespers
- Night prayer
Annual retreat
Each year in January we take the boys on retreat to an abbey or a monastery, so that they may discover the beauty of religious life and give at least one full day to meeting Christ in silent prayer.
The sacraments
The boys may go to confession during daily Vespers, or to priests who are passing through the Academy. We can also offer them the following sacraments and spiritual practices:
- Eucharistic adoration followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
- Celebration of the Eucharist
- Preparation for First Communion and Confirmation
Welcoming priests:
We are glad to receive at the Academy every priest who passes through, whatever his community or spirituality.
Each of these priests is a chance for the boys to discover the richness of charisms and spiritualities in the Church.
