Termly progress reviews
Because our project is one of integral education, we give a great deal of time to these councils.
Each student, from CM1 onwards, is invited to his class council. Little by little, according to his age and his maturity, he is accompanied and given responsibility.
At the Academy, the educational, academic and musical project is first of all the student’s. Actor of his progress, he introduces his class council, preparing it throughout the term.
How the council proceeds
The student presents the review in each area to the teaching team at the end of the period. The points of attention raised at the previous council are taken up again, and the development is observed both by the student and by the adults present.
- In light of the progress and difficulties observed, new resolutions are agreed for the following term.
- Effort and progress are rewarded with commendations or encouragements.
- Difficulties are discussed by the student and the adults.
A place of dialogue
The class council is a place of exchange in order to put in place concrete actions and realistic, attainable objectives for overcoming difficulties.
Thus approved and written in the blue folder, the students can progress with the help of all the adults charged with their education — parents, teachers, educators — throughout the following term.
Ongoing support
Reminders and regular points are made with the parents, the tutor, the educators, the choir directors and the teachers throughout the term, in order to support each student in his resolutions.
For the younger boys, captains and team leaders may be called upon to offer extra help.
Commendations and encouragements are awarded in each area to reward excellent behaviour and excellent work, both academic and musical.
An Excellence Prize is awarded to the student who receives commendations in all three areas of life at the Academy.
