Host a Mass

The Académie Musicale de Liesse is a semi-professional ensemble specialising in sacred vocal and instrumental music, and it often travels a long way to sing the liturgy in the parishes that welcome it. We wish to be able to sing the whole Mass with our students: the hymns sung with the congregation (entrance, communion, recessional…) and the motets sung by the choir (offertory, thanksgiving…).

In the ordinary form, we also sing the Ordinary of the Mass: Kyrie, Gloria, psalm, Alleluia (or acclamation), Credo, Prayer of the Faithful, Sanctus, Memorial Acclamation, Our Father, Agnus Dei, etc.

For the readings (first, second reading…) and the intentions of the Prayer of the Faithful, we leave it to you to find readers within the parish. Please note: the psalm, the Alleluia (or acclamation) and the refrain of the Prayer of the Faithful will be sung by the Academy.

In the extraordinary form, we also sing the Ordinary of the Mass (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) and the Proper of the Mass in Gregorian chant (Introit, Gradual, Tract, Alleluia, Communion antiphon, etc.).

A programme, chosen by us, will be sent to you about a month in advance. We usually alternate hymns in French, Gregorian pieces or polyphonic motets, as well as instrumental pieces, following the rubrics of the Roman Missal.

The Academy has an organ class: our student organists are qualified and used to playing both choir organs and gallery organs. It matters to our semi-professional choir to be able to perform its works with our own organists. We therefore have our own organists and ask the resident organist for permission to play.

Each journey by the choir costs between €500 and €1,500 for coach hire, depending on the distance.

By hosting us, the parish / association undertakes not to take any collection or raise any money in the name of the Academy, nor to fund any service connected with its visit, without its explicit, written and prior agreement.
